This week, Deutsche Grammophon share the release of clarinetist Andreas Ottensamer's new album, Blue Hour, in which he explores some of the jewels of the Romantic era together with pianist Yuja Wang and the Berliner Philharmoniker under the direction of Mariss Jansons. Following her first single of Max Richter's November, Norwegian violinist Mari Samuelsen releases a new arrangement of Brian Eno's By This River. The first of seven albums of Jóhann Jóhannsson's early works chosen for a two-part retrospective edition is released today. Sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar has selected her favourite tracks from across her nine solo albums on Deutsche Grammophon, offering a compelling retrospective of her career so far. As they are celebrating International Women's Day, we have created a playlist of the Grandes Dames of Classical Music showcasing the female artists on our label. This week, Deutsche Grammophon celebrates the birthdays of both Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Daniil Trifonov, as well as they commemorate the 150th anniversary of Hector Berlioz's passing with a feature in their Music Puzzle and in their new discovery area.
