THE 2018–2019 CLIBURN CONCERTS SEASON CONCLUDES WITH THESE FANTASTIC PERFORMANCES

The 2018–2019 Cliburn Concerts season has seen some tremendous performances; from the opening of our season with two of opera's biggest stars to welcoming back our 2017 silver medalist, Kenny Broberg, and transporting audiences to turn-of-the-century Paris at our 2019 Cliburn Festival, we thank you for another season of excellent music in Fort Worth. There are still opportunities to attend some of this season's great performances at these concerts.

ALEXANDRE THARAUD, piano

Bach: Goldberg Variations

Thursday & Friday, April 4 & 5, 2019

Kimbell Art Museum Piano Pavilion

Bach's Goldberg Variations are not only a pinnacle of the classical piano canon; they are a deeply spiritual experience that draws listeners both into the music and into themselves. On each of two nights, French pianist Alexandre Tharaud will guide us through an uninterrupted 70 minutes of musical inspiration and reflection on the cycle of life. These concerts will mark the Texas debut for this groundbreaking artist, who has performed in the world's most prestigious venues; collaborated with horse trainer and impresario Bartabas; appeared in and performed the soundtrack for Michael Haneke's Academy Award-winning Amour; and recorded 37 albums. He took a yearlong sabbatical to perfect his understanding and interpretation of this work, and we hope you'll join us to experience the fruits of his exploration.
